[Braze-mas 2023, Day 24]
What’s up everyone, my name is Allan, Founder and Consultant at For Now Marketing, and welcome to Day 24 of Braze-mas 2023!
Before we get started, if you have any questions, whether you are currently using Braze or considering using Braze, please feel free to reach out! You can find these addresses and more in the Youtube description below.
Today, we are going to be testing our setup from the previous 2 videos on “How To Set “Change Custom Attribute Value” As Conversion Event”. After any sort of advanced, complex setup, we always want to make sure that the setup is working as expected.
Let’s get started!
Custom Attribute → Custom Event Converter Canvas
So we already launched our Custom Attribute to Custom Event Converter Canvas in our previous video, and that’s already running in the background for us. Let’s start by testing this Canvas first.
So here’s my user profile, and you can see that I’m at level 4, and I’ve already logged level_up a few times from my previous tests. But let’s do one more test together so we can be 100% sure how this works.
So let’s say I’ve been working hard on the game, and I’ve finally leveled up to level 5. I have a Webhook built that helps me log level increases in Braze, so I will run that Webhook real quick. Before I run this, keep in mind that the last time the Custom Event level_up was logged was x minutes ago.
Unfortunately, I can’t show us this page as my API Key is exposed, but a quick refresh, and you can see that I am now at level 5! So imagine that this Custom Attribute update comes from your backend; but this Custom Attribute update is what triggers our Converter Canvas, and we should also see that level_up was triggered just a few seconds ago, which is awesome.
Launch Push Campaign
So we at least know that our Converter Canvas works. So now we are going to launch our “New User Level Up Tips” Push Campaign. So I just did that, you won’t be able to see it, but I just got my web push.
And then let’s say after reading this tip, I worked harder on the game, and I reached level 6, which means that our Push Campaign was successful because I, the recipient of this Campaign, was able to perform the Conversion Event of leveling up after receiving this Campaign.
So I’m going to fire the level up Webhook once more which should take us to level 6. That’s done.
Conversion Rate Changed!
Back to our original Push Campaign, a quick refresh, and we see that our Conversion Rate is 50%, which means it has been successfully logged!
So that bring us to the end of this series: How To Set “Change Custom Attribute Value” As Conversion Event. If you watched all 3 parts, thank you so much, happy holidays, and may your conversion rates be at 100% for all your future launches.
Thank You!
That’s it for Day 24.
